allow students to bring cell phones to school and use them in ways that don't interfere with the school's educational mission.
After the Columbine High School massacre in 1999 and the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, school boards throughout the United States revisited bans against both bringing cell phones to school and using them on school premises. Like any technology, cell phones can be used for both good and bad purposes. It is the responsibility of the school board to facilitate the use of this powerful technology for the many purposes that can help parents and students without harming the educational mission of the schools.
